SWARM is a piece of music which Simon Le Boggit composed entirely using algorithmic methods.
The visuals were created separately by Simon - he processed his original video of swarming bees in a way which makes visible the direction of movement of individual flights amongst the apparent chaos. The music (apparent order from chaos) and visuals (apparent chaos from order) were felt to represent two sides of the same coin. This "performance" uses computer-driven sound samples, kindly made available by the Philharmonia Orchestra (UK). |
