QUANTUM SOUP ORCHESTRA SOLO MALE VOICE CHOIR
Using Simon's QUANTUM SOUP algorithmic compositional methods, a laptop computer generated primary "seed notes" on-the-fly, and instantly broadcast them via a radio link to Simon's earphones . He then simply sang the stream of notes fed to him. The SoundSpiral repeatedly replayed Simon's singing, as more new notes were piled on top, resulting in the glorious cacophony of a massed male voice choir. Comments of passersby included "amazing" and "mesmerizing". |
The QUANTUM SOUP ORCHESTRA SOLO MALE VOICE CHOIR is Simon Le Boggit's first attempt at bringing his algorithmic music compositional methods to a live performance. Its debut inside the SoundSpiral in Lincoln (UK) during GNARL fest 2014 offered a rare opportunity to experiment with the effects of note-density in a powerful high fidelity surround-sound sonic environment - the SoundSpiral harbours 52 independently channeled speakers. |
Audio and video from this experimental session will be posted here, as it becomes available.
